Contents Page Image Layout

For my contents page images, I needed to decide how to edit them.
As my genre is 'Punk Rock' I wanted to come up with something for my contents page that was exactly conventional so I thought I would look at the complete contrast to the 'block color' that I used on my front cover, which is black and white. With this idea in mind I searched the web for inspiration and came across this picture:

This image gave an adult alternative to the comic book theme and I liked that and wanted to incorporate it into my work.
I next looked at similar 'Comic Book' themes and found this

This is the idea I was to add to my black and white contents page images.
Here are some of the ideas I had on paper

(sketches)

To help with this I searched for 'Comic book fonts' and found this great clip art on dafont

More Images Needed

For my contents page I needed to take my images to fit with the articles that will be present with my magazine. For this I needed to get more bands and artists to feature within the magazine.

Dlyan Kit- at home
This article will be focused on the 'Punk Rock' drummer- Dlyan Kit and him at home. This will attract readers as they have seen this crazy rock drummer wild on stage but now they can gain an in-site to what he is like at home, is he still crazy? or maybe quite the opposite?
Based on this idea I came up with this image

Other ideas behind this was that I didn't want to give too much away to the audience as this picture is only on the contents so he is pictured in a rolled up shirt, spiked hair and a cigarrette behind his ear- showing him still as a rebel from his clothing, however he is photographed in a home setting, sat at a table and eating a meal, nothing rebellious about that!. This gives two ideas and makes the audience want to read the article to see what he is really like away from the drums.
(In the end this image wasn't chosen to be presented on the front cover)

Smashing of the guitar- How to stay punk
This is based on a very famous image by 'The Clash' that Punk rockers are very familiarized with. I decided to add my own twist to this legendary image, so instead of using the typical 'Punk Rock' electrical guitar I decided to go for the complete opposite and managed to locate an Acoustic guitar and 'Smash' this. I wanted to use this instead as I reflects the music of Punk Rock itself as it pushed the boundaries that more traditional music stood by and they would use and acoustic guitar. So I kind of represents the contrast between 'Punk Rock' other genres that stuck by the rules.

The first thing im going to look at for my contents page is the layout, where abouts on page am I going to place things?

Here is the background to my contents, to which I will adjust when I add my pictures and text ect..

How to achieve an A*/A/B

1) Be critical- re work the designs, Re take the photos, use photo minipulation.
2) Show your development of your work. Accompany screenshot & images with comments.
3) Frequent posts! Sometimes short and snappy is better than an essay.
4) Use a range of media such as prezi, Goanimate, slideshow ect...
