Evaluation Question 5: How did you attract/address your audience?
In order to attract my audience, I needed to construct my
magazine in a way that would appeal to them. To do so I looked at my research
into the genre of 'Punk Rock' and used aspects of the Punk Culture to incorporate
into my magazine this would be recognizable and therefore appeal to my target
audience.
The graph below shows how different aspects of my magazine
were influenced by the audience’s expectations of punk rock, in order to
attract them.

Was I successful in attracting my audience?
In order to gain honest feedback I decided to show ten people who classified as my audience my magazine Front cover, Contents and Double Page Spread and them two questions which I then displayed as a graph.
I would say I was successful in attracting my audience as the audience was recognizable as 100% could identify that it was a unisex magazine, also 90% of the audience said that they would buy the magazine, the one person who said they wouldn't said it was because they don't buy magazines therefore I have successfully made the magazine attractive to the audience as they would buy it.
Audience feedback
I also asked someone in my audience to take part feedback questionnaire asking them the question 1)What genre of music does this magazine display?
2) Does this magazine attract you?
4) what age group would you say this magazine is aimed at ?
5) Which part
of the product stands out to you?
6) How could I improve it?
6) How could I improve it?
Here are the answers my participant gave to these questions:

Evaluation Question 2: How does your media product represent particular social groups?
When deciding a particular 'stereotype group' I had to evaluate my audience so I looked back on my beginning research where I found my audience from, going back to my survey and the results from that. I found that my audience was not exactly clear as punk rock has fans from a mixture of ages from the original fans who were there when it started to the new punk rock fans that like the old punk but also follow the new. However I classified my audience as late teens to early/middle age adults.
Also when deciding a stereotype I decided to go the full on with the punk rock theme as following the genre they seemed to like 'full on' down to the fashion and the music.
Here is why I chose what I chose in order to create my images

First edits of Double page spread
However this arrangement didn't quite fit, there was too much text and I needed more space on the page, also the way I had added the text had proven a more challenging than it could have been.

The Article
For my article I needed to do some research, in order to find out how to communicate with my audience as for my genre it will be different to the way other genres will communicate.
I looked into the closest magazine genre to 'Punk Rock' which happens to be 'Kerrang!' a rock magazine and read some double page spread articles on bands featured here.
from this I noticed the 'chatty language' used such as add, right? after a statement or other words that seemed to directly talk to the audience.
I also noticed for rock magazines they use many quotes/opinions given to fit into the article by the band and as my genre appeals to a more mature teenage/adult range, I know the language must fit this and be able to connect to this type of audience.

Inspiration for Double Page Spread
Here are the images I found when seeking Inspiration for my double page spread.
I chose these images as they are not so neat and structured and as I constatntly keep saying I want to keep the layout crazy, messy and unstructured to reflect the genre 'Punk Rock'.
I also chose these as they have minimal writing, which is what I want for my double page spread as I want it to continue to appeal to my target audience as a formal interview with a band is not what would entice a 'Punk rocker' to the article, more pictures and big pull quotes would seem to appeal more to them.

Edits to contents
I decided that the picture on my front cover would look better if it was cut away from its background (using the polygon lasso tool) and just placed straight onto the red background as this made the image seem better placed on the page, rather than just a photograph just plonked onto the place.
more contents page edits
I wanted my images to really stand out, so I decided to add a white border behind them, which looked really effective on the red background. I also added these graphics onto the images, following the comic book theme, which I got from Dafont.com
Contents page image edits
For the contents images, to make them look more like a comic strip I first put them in black and white, then to get a more authentic look, I added the 'Noise' effect, which made the picture look more grainy and old.
My other image to use on my contents page, was a spontaneous/ unplanned photograph of my friend on the bus, but I really liked it and knew it would fit perfectly. To ensure more continuity I edited this picture in the same way, but to make it a little different to the other so they didn't look like they were done in the same day, I used dark tones instead of the Black and White.

more Images
I needed more images for my contents so another band I created was a girl two piece band who also where to feature in my magazine. Deciding the image for this was more difficult as it is using only girls but I decided to google more punk images on google and came up with this idea, I was very happy as my images came out just as I had imagined.
(after editing)
The styling for this image was typical punk rock, I decided on crazy hair, black eye make up and following the sex pistols a union jack, which I managed to get hold of.
